What I have accomplished so far

In 2022, I…

  • Ensured that C.A.R.E.S dollars reached small businesses that were negatively impacted by the pandemic in a timely manner so they could emerge in a better position.
  • Initiated and proposed a compromised solution to Streatery usages that divided the town during the pandemic. The solution is a Fee Structure that charges business owners who choose to use the public right of way $500 per Streatery. The city uses this fund to rent additional parking spaces and offering as free public parking, which in turn benefits downtown businesses.

  • Worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for all Edmonds residents, especially for residents in Southeast Edmonds where parks and public space are lacking.
  • Campaigned and advocated for the following projects around the City of Edmonds to ensure Edmonds residents can share the natural beauty of the reginal ecological designation:
    • Lake Ballinger McAleer boat launch area improvement.
    • Lake Ballinger Park Interlocal Agreement with the City of Mountlake Terrance.
  • Campaigned and advocated for the completion of Hwy 99 Stage Two center median improvement project to greatly improve the safety of motorists and pedestrians while enhancing the corridor’s beauty.
  • Supported the completion of the new Civic Field Park in downtown Edmonds, especially the all-inclusive children’s playground.
  • Served as Finance Committee Chair.
  • Formed and led the Citizen’s Finance Advisory Group and held monthly meetings to gather public input as part of community outreach.
  • Held monthly Finance Forums at various locations in the city to educate the public about different financial topics that deeply impact our daily lives.
  • Advocated for the Fixed It Edmonds app that provides a speedy and convenient way of reporting traffic and city maintenance issues.

In 2024, I…

  • Streamlined Financial Policies and Fund Balance Reserve Policies.
  • Expanded parks and open spaces in parts of the city where they were lacking.
  • Championed for the Mathay Ballinger Park permanent restroom and ADA parking improvements.
  • Supported the acquisition of the Mee property, doubling the size of Mathay Ballinger Park.
  • Championed the city operating system ERP renewal and implementation.
  • Served as Finance Committee Chair.
  • Served as Council President Pro Tem.
  • Brought the inaugural Dragon Boat Festival to Edmonds.
  • Worked on the City’s Comprehensive Plans Update, supported Middle Housing Policies that support affordable housing.

And so far in 2025, I…

  • Implemented red light cameras to improve public safety and bring in much needed revenue for the city.
  • Campaigned for and supported the RFA annexation to improve public safety and release the city from having to pay for Fire and EMS services out of the city’s General Fund.
  • Worked on Hubs and Centers to strategically increase residential density while protecting the Edmonds small town feel and charm.
  • Supported STEP housing as workable solutions to the much-needed housing shortage.
  • Championed the Interim Tree Code which protected legacy trees that provide much environmental benefits.
