Why am I running for Edmonds City Council?

WILL share my skills and knowledge to help small business and promote responsible economic development.

2020 has brought incredible challenges for the way we live and do business. The global pandemic has caused financial difficulties for many small businesses. Now more than ever, small businesses need all the resources and assistance to not only survive this difficult time, but also emerge from it better and stronger. I am very happy to help restaurants, travel agencies, and other small businesses in town apply for and obtain the desperately needed Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding and other grants, such as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act money.

I  WILL be  a voice for ALL Edmonds residents and those who often feel unheard.

Edmonds is a culturally rich community and more ethnically diverse than folks might realize. While our diversity is a strength, the truth is, we have neighbors who need help to access city services and be engaged in the civic process. I believe I am uniquely qualified to be their voice: I am a first generation American—I came to the US 26 years ago. I was educated here and have owned a successful accounting business in Edmonds since 2012. As a proud American citizen, I love this community. Edmonds has been good to me and my family, and I want to pay it forward. I am a board member of Edmonds Chamber of Commerce. As a member of the Edmonds Chamber Task Force, which helped raise more than one hundred and seven thousand dollars ($107K) to help our beloved chamber get through this difficult time, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU for your overwhelming support. I am also honored that the Edmonds Rotary Club took me in as a member. As a person who values education and believes that it is the foundation for success, I am honored to serve on the Accounting Advisory Committee of Edmonds College. But I want to do more. That’s why I’m running for City Council.

WILL serve ALL people in Edmonds with a balanced decision-making approach.

As you have seen in the recent years and months, any extreme political ideology can be damaging to our country and community. As a compassionate and determined individual who has personally been affected by the failure of extremist policies, I have come to treasure our system of democracy. Based on my own life experience, I am in a unique position to bring a balanced approach to our City Council.

I love Edmonds !

After spending decades living both abroad and a few other states in the US, and travelling to many countries in Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Australia, I am fortunate to land in Edmonds, a loving and welcoming community. I met my lovely wife Lisa, who is a public high school teacher, here, and we are blessed with our 9-year-old son Gavin, who is a Minecraft expert in the making. I started my accounting firm in Edmonds (it has been my professional dream since I obtained my CPA credentials) and I am very honored to serve my loyal clients, many of whom have become personal friends and supporters. As Edmonds grows and changes happen, I want to ensure our city continues to be a welcoming city for all.
